On December 16, 1899, a group of fans gathered in a room at the Dunawd hotel founded a sports club, the Milan Cricket and Football Club. Founder: Alfred Edwards. After a hundred years of ups and downs, AC Milan has developed into one of the greatest teams in the world today. In order to distinguish it from Inter Milan, another football club in Milan, it is generally called AC Milan, or simply Milan. AC Milan's traditional shirt is red and black, so it is often nicknamed "Rossoneri".
